Paula's Pancake House: A Breakfast Gem in Solvang, CA

I really want to give this place five stars but I’ll tell you why here in just a minute. My wife and I came for breakfast on a Friday morning at 9 AM and there was no line we were able to get a table immediately. We sat down and got a really nice table near the window and then our server was on top of it and we ordered our food. My wife went with the danish pancakes and I went with the eggs Benedict. Her pancakes were super sweet and delicious. They came with bacon and eggs. My eggs Benedict was good, but it wasn’t great and that’s the reason that I’m giving them four stars instead of five.

This was our third time coming to Paula’s for breakfast when we were in Solvang. Of all the other breakfast places, we liked this one the best. The country fried steak was hit and crispy when it came out. However, the omelette wasn’t light and fluffy like I’d expected, but the hash browns were good. The thick pancakes were better than the Danish pancakes but both were still good. The service was good. We can’t wait to come back soon!

This is a great spot for breakfast in downtown. Be prepared, there is a line, and it's long. We were staying at a hotel very nearby so I left my husband and kiddos in the room and ran down to put our name in. They told us it would be 30-35 minutes and they were spot on with their estimate. The service was super fast and attentive, they are so friendly, and the food is good. We tried the danish pancake and the biscuits and gravy.

My first time here and the wait time was worth it! I'm not sure how busy the restaurant is on a regular basis but I spent Labor Day weekend in Solvang and Paula's Pancake House was crowded! Do not let that deter you..Breakfast or lunch at Paula's is a must. The restaurant has an at home, comfortable atmosphere. It's clean, and very welcoming. You can also opt to be seated in their patio as well. I ordered their Danish Pancake Breakfast Combo; Eggs, Danish Sausage and a thin Danish Pancake topped off with fresh Strawberries. The portion served is very generous. It's filling, flavorful, the strawberries were fresh, the Danish sausage and pancake were delicious. Our waitress was nothing short from amazing!! She was friendly and she did not miss a beat. We had absolutely no hiccups with our orders or drinks. She really made our experience at Paula's feel like we were visiting family. Highly recommend, enjoy!

This place was pure perfection, the atmosphere was lively with multiple people from around the world enjoying great food and drinks while speaking their language. The staff were wonderful and so welcoming. The food was nothing short of greatness. This is a must stop and enjoy. Also the tea selection was delightful. Can’t wait to go back.

Upon arriving there was a line out the door, I wasn’t too sure what exactly the line was for, apparently it was to check in. (Took about 15 minutes to check in, while waiting a birds were pooping everywhere outside) anyways once I checked in the service was fast, we were seated quickly (party of 2). Food was really good (or I was really hungry at this point) anything I asked for we got fast. We were happy. (1 Adult meal & 1 kid meal with drinks came out to about $50)

Good food. Good vibes. Nice restaurant. I can understand why they’re popular. Initially, I thought it might be another tourist trap, but their food was delicious. The Danish pancakes were indeed yummy

After having breakfast here, we are not surprised it's so popular. Huge menu and everything is not only delicious, but fairly priced. Given the volume of people they feed every day, the level of service is exceptional. If you're in the area, it's worth the trip to Solvang just to eat here. Yep, that good!
